On May, 16th-19th 2018 Saint-Petersburg College of Tourism was visited by delegations from vocational colleges from Finland, Azerbaijan and Italy in connection with holding International scientific-practical conference “Developing vocational educational institutions according to labor market requests”

The delegation from Azerbaijan was leaded by Head of Mingachevir Tourism College , Doctor Eyyub Eyyubov addressed a plenary session with a report “Social cooperation – one of the key factors in development of learning”

Director IPS Beccari (Turin) Pietro Rapizarda told about vocational education in Italy in his report Enogastronomic & Social Competition "Abbattiamo i muri del silenzio" (Let's break down silence walls)

Mayor of the town of Cazargo – Pina Scarpa and Administrative council president of Hotel School CFPA-Nunzio Marcelli shared their experience of arranging an annual international gastronomical contest of vocational skills.

The representatives of the two Finnish colleges also took part in the conference. They are: Coordinator of education exports Noora Juuti and a teacher Timo Leso (South Savo Vocational college “ ESEDU”) from the town of Mikkeli and a teacher of tourism Mika Nenonen (SAMIedu) from the town of Savonlinna.

In the field of the conference there were two interesting events with the participation of foreign students, specialized in tourism and cooking.

Our students together with foreign students from SAMIedu and teachers gave a lesson on working out the tourist routes around Saint-Petersburg, and then took the roles of experts on the trying the city route which was worked out by the Finnish student.

In a laboratory of the “Restaurant service” department there was given a lesson on cooking traditional Russian cuisine dishes for students from the town of Сazargo (Italy).

Foreign participants of the conference were showed around laboratories, training workshops, Employment assistant center for college graduates. There was arranged a bus tour about Saint-Petersburg. Our guests were showed the main Saint-Petersburg sightseeing, architectural ensembles and monuments, and also our new stadium “Zenit Arena” where the World Football Championship is going to be this summer.

In the final part of the conference our foreign participants expressed their thanks to Head of College Svetlana Antonova and all the staff for hospitality, excellent organization of events, interesting programme and an opportunity to make new useful links as well as our great interest in future cooperation.
